ကဆုန္သည္ ျမန္မာျပကၡဒိန္၏ဒုတိယလ ျဖစ္သည္။ ကဆုန္လတြင္ ၃၀ ရက္ရွိသည္။ ရက္စုံေသာလ ျဖစ္သည္။ဒုတိယလျဖစ္သည့္ ကဆုန္ (ကုဆန္) လသည္ ခရစ္ျပကၡဒိန္တြင္ ဧၿပီလ-ေမလ အတြင္းျဖစ္သည္။ 'ကု' သည္ 'ေရ' ဟုအဓိပၸာယ္ရၿပီး 'ဆုန္' မွာ 'သြန္းေလာင္းျခင္း' အဓိပၸာယ္ ရွိသည့္အတြက္ေၾကာင့္ အလြန္ပူျပင္းသည့္ေႏြရာသီ၏ အပူဒဏ္ေၾကာင့္ သစ္ပင္ႀကီးငယ္တို႔ကို ေရေလာင္းေပးရသည္ဟု ယူဆပါသည္။ ျမတ္စြာဘုရား ပြင့္ေတာ္မူရာ ဗုဒၶဂါယာမွ ေဗာဓိေညာင္ပင္၏ မ်ိဳးပြားအပင္မ်ားကို ျမန္မာတို႔ေဆာင္ယူလာၾကၿပီး အထြတ္အျမတ္ စုိက္ပ်ိဳးထားကာ ထုိေဗာဓိေညာင္ပင္တို႔ကိုလည္း ေရသြန္းေလာင္းေလ့ရွိျပန္သည္။ကဆုန္လ၏ အထိမ္းအမွတ္ ပန္းမွာ စကားပန္း (Talauma Spongocarpa) ျဖစ္သည္။ကဆုန္လတြင္ ထင္ရွားေသာ ပြဲေတာ္မွာ ေညာင္ေရသြင္းပြဲ ျဖစ္သည္။
